NUJ fears CMS may lead to job losses

As magazine publishers boost their cross-platform offerings, Emap is introducing a new flashy content management system (CMS) for its business titles. Going by the somewhat scary name of  Tridion , the CMS makes light work of publishing content over multiple platforms – including print, web, e-mail, PDA and mobile.

But it’s not all good news for editorial staff. As the NUJ reports in its MagLight newsletter (Feb 2007), the introduction of the technology has led to at least one staff member being made redundant and there are fears of more cuts to come.
